Ubisense Visible Industrial Process (VIP)
The Ubisense Visible Industrial Process (VIP) software application is a web-based solution which uses the Ubisense Real-time Location System (RTLS) to track components and assemblies in complex distributed manufacturing environments. It provides real-time visibility into the current manufacturing situation, and detailed historical information that can be used to analyze and improve the whole manufacturing process.
How it works
Ubisense installs a sensor network throughout the production areas to be monitored using Ubisense Series 7000 Sensors. All sensors are standard IP-based devices connected using standard commercially available network equipment which are monitored and tuned in real-time.
Ubisense Tags are then attached to an assembly or component on the production line and when it enters an area, it is automatically located, providing visibility and control into where it is in the assembly process. VIP can help manufacturing companies reduce production time and costs both short term through alerting production staff to process anomalies and long term through identifying production bottlenecks which can be improved.
