Visible Industrial Process (VIP)

The Ubisense Visible Industrial Process (VIP) software application is a web-based solution which uses the Ubisense Real-time Location System (RTLS) to track components and assemblies in complex distributed manufacturing environments. It provides real-time visibility into the current manufacturing situation, and detailed historical information that can be used to analyze and improve the whole manufacturing process. The application comprises of four main areas:

Map

VIP’s real-time maps show the current locations of work-in-progress items at each supplier facility. Powerful search capabilities allow assemblies to be located by build number or other search criteria.

Panorama

The Panorama feature allows real-time monitoring of inventory and assembly progress along the whole manufacturing chain. Flashing alerts and notification e-mails provide detailed information about stalled or problematic assemblies in the workflow, which can then be interrogated to provide precise details of the root cause of the production problem.
Panorama provides a real-time view of critical business operations giving instant visibility into production line status and expected final delivery timescales, thus improving communication, increasingproduction throughput and making process planning more effective.

Reports
The Reports area displays detailed reports based on the tracked
assembly positions, providing accurate, real-time precision project
management data. Example reports include:

Build Number Log: Log of actual steps and alerts for a single build number
Progress Against Plan: Gantt-chart timeline showing progress against plan for a single build number
Duration Against Plan: Mean duration of an interval or step, over a chosen date range
Duration Histogram: Histogram of duration of an interval or step, over a chosen date range
Box Plot: Box plot of duration in steps or intervals, over a chosen date range
Time Series: Evolution of interval or step duration over time
Mean Time Series: Evolution of the mean duration of an interval or step over time
Alert Log: Log of generated alerts

Administration
The Administration area allows for full configuration and control of the VIP application.
