Ubisense Developer

Ubisense Developer extends the Ubisense Location Platform and provides additional features for developers wishing to create integrated applications tailored to specific vertical markets.

Ubisense Developer consists of two main components, a Simulator component which simulates the movement of tags without the need to install any sensors and also a Data Dictionary editing tool that allows developers to create new application-specific data models, and compile these models directly to persistent, scalable .NET Ubisense services. These can be tightly integrated with the other Ubisense services, in order to build application suites.

Developer is used by some of the world's leading organizations to provide integration with demanding applications in factories, transit depots, distribution centres, conference centres and military training facilities.

Simulator

The Ubisense Simulator is a tool for simulating the input from a real-life physical sensor network.All Ubisense sensor and tag code can be run in the Simulator, and can be used in the planning stage of a system to optimize the configuration of the sensor network. The achievable accuracy can be reliably predicted and sensor layout tailored to the needs of the application.

The main functions of the Simulator are:

  • To simulate tag movements, faster than real-time for small numbers of tags and sensors
  • Remove the need for any real sensors or tags - both are simulated in software

Data Dictionary Editor

The Ubisense Location Platform provides an object model to represent real-world objects in the software and to provide interaction capabilities with these objects. The rich object model delivered with the standard software can be further extended.

The Data Dictionary Editor component of Developer lets you change and add to the object model, automatically creating the possibility for interaction through functions and callbacks. These are automatically published and APIs are generated - which can be used for integration with third-party software systems.
