 Asset Manager

Asset Manager

Ubisense Asset Manager brings new levels of precision to the tracking and monitoring of tagged assets across defined spaces.
Asset Manager is a web-based application that can locate and monitor tagged assets and report the location and history of asset movement within defined spaces.

How it worksUbisense installs a sensor network throughout the area where assets will be monitored using Ubisense Series 7000 Sensors. All sensors are standard IP-based devices connected using standard commercially-available network equipment which are monitored and tuned in real-time.

Ubisense location tags are then attached to assets and are registered with the system using a quick barcode scan. Tagged assets are automatically located, and the locations are recorded and processed by the Asset Manager application.

Ubisense Asset Manager can then be used to locate the tagged assets via an enterprise-wide, browser-based user interface, and can report and display the history of asset movement and containment within defined areas, reducing the time taken to locate important assets and providing detailed analysis on asset movement over time. It can also generate email alerts when a given asset enters or exits a given space.

Precision asset locationUbisense Asset Manager automatically detects and records events relevant to asset movement.

In a supply chain, searching for lost assets can consume a lot of time. Quick asset location and usage analysis is a useful tool that can save an organization time and money.

Ubisense Asset Manager is designed to give visibility of industrial assets, such as tools, test equipment, work orders or product. It can also support management of maintenance and calibration, and help ensure workplace policies on tool assignment and log tool usage. Asset Manager ensures that as a project gets underway, valuable assets will be in the right place at the right time.

Map

The Map area shows the location of assets within the designated location zones. The map area also allows control of the following functions:

  • Map the current locations of all assets of a given type
  • Display the historical trails of assets over a given time period
  • Search for assets by their attributes
  • Change asset appearance based on attributes
  • View asset attributes in a small pop-up window
  • Display the location quality of an asset via indication bars

Reports

The Reports area displays detailed reports based on the tracked assembly positions, providing accurate, real-time precision data.  All reports are filterable by asset name, type, date, space, tag, and custom attributes. Standard reports include:

  • Asset spatial history
  • Total time spent in areas
  • Histogram of dwell time in areas
  • Assets not moving for more than a given time
  • Assets tagged for more than a given time
  • Assets that have been hidden

Operations monitor

The operations area allows you to manage assets and their tags. Controllable settings include:

  • List the current assets and their assigned location tags
  • Create an asset of a given type and identifier, and associate it with a location tag
  • Disassociate an asset from a location tag
  • Swap the location tag for an asset
  • Change the identifier of an asset
  • Check the location tag status e.g. battery level, when last seen, etc.
  • Manage the attribute values for individual assets

Administration

The Administration area allows full configuration and control of the Asset Manager application. Configurable parameters and behaviour controlled via the Administration area include:

  • Load and save operational state
  • Manage the set of asset types
  • Manage assets of given types, their unique identifiers and associated tags
  • Remove an asset completely from the application, including all historical asset data
  • Configure the Asset Manager global parameters
  • Define the colours shown in the Map area for space roles
  • Define the set of attributes available for each asset type
  • Show the status of all sensors within the location network
